Private law

LETT provides qualified assistance to private individuals within the field of private law as regards family law and succession law.

We make a point of ensuring that the advice provided takes into account factors other than the rights and obligations provided by statutes.

Often private law matters will be of great importance in e.g. ownership transfers and the sale of real property. Moreover, the tax implications of any transaction relating to private law should also be investigated prior to it being completed.

It is important to LETT to provide personal as well as confidential advice. Particularly as regards advice on family law, we make a point of taking into account factors other than any statutory rights and obligations. We focus on finding a solution that allows for human considerations as well.

Within the field of family law, we provide advice primarily as regards division of property on divorce or legal separation, legal separation and divorce, custody and access, matrimonial property, including drafting marriage contracts, as well as unmarried cohabitants, including drafting cohabitation agreements, gifts and loans between family members.

LETT has a department specialising in the administration of estates of deceased persons, the division of matrimonial property and insolvency proceedings. The head of department is authorised by the Danish Ministry of Justice to act as a probate administrator.

LETT provides advice to our clients on all aspects of succession law. Individual advice is a first priority of ours. When drafting wills, we examine property matters in detail in order to assess the possibilities relating to the distribution of inheritance. Moreover, issues of succession law are very important in e.g. planning a successful ownership transfer.
